The Fairhaven Field Guide (“the Guide”, “we”) is a fan-made, static reference site for the video game Wylde Flowers. This page explains what information passes through the site when you visit, and what choices you have. The short version: we don’t collect personal information unless you choose to send us a message or sign up for email updates — but our hosting provider, advertising partner, analytics provider, Grow (Mediavine), and contact-form provider each process some data, and this page tells you exactly what and how to opt out.

What we collect directly

Only what you choose to send. The Guide has no accounts and no comments. The only sign-up is the optional email list described in Email updates below. We use Google Analytics to count visits (see below), but we never see who you are. You can read every page without telling us who you are. The optional Grow save button is run by Mediavine, and any account you make there is with Grow, not the Guide (see below).

The one exception is the contact page. If you send a message, we receive what you type into the form — your email address, your message, and optionally your name and the page you’re writing about. We use it only to read and reply to your note, and we never sell it or add you to a mailing list.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the Guide and which pages they find useful, so we know what to improve. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you view, roughly where you’re visiting from (country or city, not your address), your device and browser, and how you arrived. We see these numbers only in aggregate; they don’t tell us who you are. See How Google uses information from sites that use its services. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Analytics sets no cookies until you accept them in the consent message (see Cookies below); until then it sends only cookieless signals that can’t be tied to you across visits. You can opt out anywhere with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Contact form (Tally)

The contact form is provided by Tally (tally.so), which stores submissions on our behalf and loads its form, and a spam-prevention check, into the contact page. Tally receives standard request data (such as your IP address) when the form loads. See the Tally Privacy Policy for details. The form only loads on the contact page.

Saving pages (Grow by Mediavine)

The Guide loads Grow, a tool from Mediavine that shows a small button for saving pages to a bookmark list and sharing them. Grow’s script loads on every page and receives standard request data (such as your IP address) and the page you’re on, and it uses cookies and browser storage to remember your saved pages. If you choose to sign in to Grow to keep your saves across devices, Grow collects your email address; that account is between you and Grow, and we don’t receive your saves. Email updates (Grow by Mediavine)

You can sign up through the Grow button to get emails when the Guide adds or updates pages. Signing up is optional, and nothing on the Guide is locked behind it.

• What we collect: the email address you enter, plus what Grow records about the emails it sends you (such as whether one was opened or a link was clicked).
• Who holds it: Grow stores the list and sends the emails on our behalf. We can see the addresses on the list in our Grow account.
• What we use it for: only to send Guide updates. We never sell the list, share it with anyone else, or use it for other mailings.
• How to stop: every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing takes you off the list straight away. You can also ask us through the contact page to remove your address.

Each email carries a postal address at the bottom, as US anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM) requires.

Tips (Ko-fi)

The Guide links to a Ko-fi page where you can leave an optional tip. It’s a plain link: nothing from Ko-fi loads on the Guide itself, and no data passes to Ko-fi unless you click through. If you do tip, Ko-fi and its payment processors handle the payment — we never see your card or bank details. Ko-fi shares with us the supporter details it shows creators (such as your display name, any message you leave, and your email address), which we use only to say thank you. Hosting (GitHub Pages)

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub may log technical information about visits — such as your IP address — for security and operational purposes. We do not have access to, and do not use, these logs. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for details on how GitHub handles visitor data.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The Guide displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to help cover the cost of running the site. This means:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.

If you’re visiting from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you’ll be shown Google’s consent message before any advertising or analytics cookies are set, where you can accept, decline, or fine-tune your choices. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they won’t be personalized. You can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy and cookie settings” link Google shows on the page.

Fonts

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file, Google receives standard request data (such as your IP address). See the Google Fonts privacy notes.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files a website (or a service it uses) saves in your browser. The Guide doesn’t set any cookies of its own — every cookie below comes from a third-party service described above. Cookie names and lifetimes are set by those services and can change; Google keeps a current list in How Google uses cookies.

How consent works here. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google’s consent message appears on your first visit, and advertising and analytics cookies stay off until you accept. Everywhere else these cookies are on by default, and you can turn them off using the options below.

Your choices:

• Change your consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland) at any time with the “Privacy and cookie settings” link Google shows on the page.
• Opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe).
• Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the Guide works fine without them.
• Use a content blocker — the Guide works perfectly well with ads blocked, and we will never nag you about it.

US state privacy rights. Some US states (such as California) treat advertising cookies as “selling” or “sharing” personal information and give you the right to opt out. We don’t sell your information to anyone, but if you’re in one of those states you’ll see a “Do not sell or share my personal information” link from Google on the page — use it to opt out of personalized ads on the Guide. The personalized-ads and cookie options above work too.

Children

The Guide is a general-audience reference site. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you’re under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before using the contact form.

Links to other sites

Pages may link to other websites (for example, the official Wylde Flowers site). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don’t control and this policy doesn’t cover.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Since the site’s source lives in a public GitHub repository, every change to this policy is publicly visible in the commit history.
