🗓️ Festivals & Events
Fairhaven does not let a season pass uncelebrated. Because the wheel of the year turns only when the coven turns it (season rituals), festivals arrive on your schedule, woven into the story rather than pinned to a fixed calendar date. When a celebration is coming, the town lets you know — often by letter or town chatter — and preparations become part of your to-do list.
🌸 The Rhythm of the Year
- Each season brings celebration. As the story progresses through Year 1 and into Year 2, festivals and community events punctuate every season — and Year 2 introduces new festivities of its own.
- Festivals are story events. They arrive as part of the narrative: you’ll get advance notice, the town will buzz with preparations, and the day itself gathers everyone in one place — usually the town square or the beach.
- You’re a participant, not a spectator. Expect to be asked to grow, cook, or craft something for the occasion. Keep your kitchen stocked and your crop rotation a step ahead of the calendar.
Festivals are the best census days in Fairhaven — nearly everyone attends. Bring gifts; a botanist never wastes a full sample of the population in one meadow. (Gift Preferences)
🎪 Verified Celebrations
Only festivals I could verify by name are pressed into this page; the town keeps a few surprises, and I’d hate to invent a holiday.
The Fairhaven Summer Festival
The island’s flagship celebration. You’ll receive a letter announcing it about fifteen days in advance (from Mayor Otto himself), and the town spends that stretch preparing. The festival itself unfolds with traditional ceremony and community celebration in the town square and down at the beach — crowned each year by the naming of the Summertide Star. One of the warmest days of island life, in every sense.
The Spring Fling
A springtime celebration added in a post-launch update — the town readies itself for a fling of flowers and festivity as part of the Year 2 content.
The Winter Festival
Winter closes the year with its own festival; the Year 2 Winter Festival serves as a grand finale to the game’s main story arc. Bundle up and see the tale through.
Seasonal Community Events
Beyond named festivals, the story threads seasonal happenings through the year — a summer drought to weather, a town election and a wedding in the fall of Year 2, among others. These play out as story chapters; see the Story Walkthrough for where they fall.

🍲 Preparing for a Festival
A little forward planning turns festival season from scramble to stroll:
| Prepare | Why |
|---|---|
| Cooked dishes | Festival prep quests often call for specific recipes — keep staple ingredients on hand (Cooking). |
| Seasonal crops | Requests tend to match the season; don’t sell your entire harvest the week a festival is announced (Crops). |
| Crafted goods | Candles, cloth, and other artisan goods occasionally feature in preparations and gifts. |
| Gifts | With the whole town gathered, festival day is peak gifting efficiency (Friendship). |
🔁 Festivals and the Turning Seasons
Because seasons only change when you complete the coven’s ritual, you control the tempo. Lingering in a season to finish crops or quests is perfectly safe — the festival tied to a story beat will wait for you. When you re-enter a season in later years, its celebrations and seasonal rhythms come back around with it, so no festival memory is ever truly behind you.
Lore aside: there’s something fitting about a witch’s town where the harvest festival never arrives before the harvest is ready. The coven wouldn’t have it any other way.
sign-off tip: on festival mornings, do your chores early — you’ll want the whole afternoon free for the square ❀
