🏪 Shops & Services
A field botanist is only as good as her suppliers. Fairhaven’s shopkeepers are also your neighbors — and future friends — so every coin spent doubles as a social call. Shops keep regular business hours and close for the night, so plan your errands for daytime; exact hours vary by shop, and festival days can shuffle everyone’s schedule.
🌱 Dahl General Store
Proprietor: Lina Dahl-Johnson (with her husband Parker Johnson helping run the place)
The beating heart of your farming operation, right in the town square. Lina stocks seeds for the current season, produce, and other food items — and the store is also the main place to sell your crops. Lina herself is the coven’s High Priestess, so your friendly neighborhood grocer moonlights as your magical superior. Seed stock rotates with the season, so restock after every season ritual.
buy next season’s seeds the morning after the ritual — beat the rush ❀
🥩 Kim’s Local Butcher and Deli
Proprietor: Kim Izumi (they/them)
Kim buys and sells meat products, and will also buy adult animals from your farm in exchange for coins and resources — the practical end of animal husbandry, handled with Kim’s characteristic warmth. A good stop for cooking ingredients you can’t raise yourself. (Kim is also one of the island’s romance options.)
🍝 Cafe Moretti
Proprietor: Sophia Moretti — this is the beloved “diner” you’ll see mentioned throughout this guide
Sophia’s diner serves hearty cooked meals — useful when your energy is flagging and your own kitchen is bare. It’s also one of the town’s great gathering spots; you’ll overhear plenty of island life over a plate here.
⚒️ The Blacksmith
Proprietor: Natalia Kuznetsova
On the west side of town, next door to your farm. Natalia smelts ores into ingots and sells upgraded farm equipment — the essential stop for turning your mining hauls into better tools. Tool upgrades are among the best investments in the game: they stretch your energy and your patience alike.
🏺 Kai’s Treasures
Proprietor: Kai Hoapili
Kai, the island’s friendly traveling merchant, keeps a shop of curiosities and wares in town near the waterfront. His stock leans toward the interesting rather than the everyday — worth a browse whenever you pass. (Also a romance option, and a charming one.)
🩺 Dr. Syed’s General Practice
Proprietor: Dr. Amira Syed
The island’s clinic. Amira is both the town doctor and a member of the coven — science and magic in one steady pair of hands. (Yes, romanceable too.)
💇 Coiffed & Crowned by Eury
Proprietor: Eury Sinclair — opens in Year 2
When Eury arrives in Year 2, they open a hair salon where you can finally change Tara’s look. A welcome bit of self-care after a year of farming — and Eury, naturally, joins the roster of romance options.
🛍️ More Storefronts Around the Square
The Town Center holds several other verified businesses you’ll come to know:
| Shop | Notes |
|---|---|
| Seton’s Bakery | Baked goods from the Seton household (Angus & Francis). |
| Soft and Son’s Fish & Tackle | The Softs’ fishing shop — see Fishing. |
| The Jewelry Box | Fine things and gift material. |
| Violet’s Violets | The flower shop — fitting, for this island. |
| Nailed It! | Parker Johnson’s carpentry business — your partner for the farm’s building projects (the greenhouse among them). |
| The Bar | Damon Mthembu-Haas pours here; a favorite evening haunt. |
A note from the margins: shopping in Fairhaven is never just shopping. Every purchase is a conversation, and conversations become friendships.
🧺 Selling Your Goods
- Crops sell at the Dahl General Store; animals and meat through Kim’s; fish at Soft and Son’s Fish & Tackle; cooked dishes at Cafe Moretti; ores, ingots, and gems at the Blacksmith. Full table in the Money-Making Guide.
- Processed artisan goods generally out-earn raw ingredients — see the Money-Making Guide before you sell a raw harvest.
- Neighbors’ to-do quests often pay in coins and goodwill; check them before dumping surplus at the store.
sign-off tip: befriend your suppliers — gifts are cheap, and shopkeeper friendships pay off in story and smiles ❀
