❀ The Fairhaven Field Guide ❀

📜 Side Quests

Between the great turnings of the main story, Fairhaven hums with smaller growth: character quests, favours, and requests. These are the wildflowers between the crop rows — entirely optional, and entirely the point.

How Side Quests Sprout

Villagers add their own entries to your To-Do list as you get to know them. They generally take a few familiar shapes:

Shape What it looks like
Item requests A neighbour asks for a crop, a dish, a potion, or a crafted good
Favours & errands Deliver something, fetch someone, help set up an event
Story scenes Multi-step personal quests that unfold a villager’s own tale
Coven tasks Magical requests from fellow witches — these are also how spells unlock

The exchange rate is always in your favour: completing a character’s quests deepens your relationship with them and unlocks new scenes — the confessions, backstories, and small comedies that are this game’s real harvest. Higher friendship, in turn, tends to sprout further quests. See Friendship for the mechanics and Gift Preferences for keeping everyone sweet between quests.

🌼 Field note: many requests want cooked dishes or seasonal goods, so a well-stocked pantry is a social asset. Keep a shelf of crowd-pleasers from the Cooking guide, and check the seasonal recipes each season brings.

Character quest lines also grow around the island’s couples and families — Angus and Francis, the Johnsons, the Softs — and around later arrivals like Eury Sinclair and the folk of Ravenwood Hollow, whose quest lines (such as the series that begins during Eury’s Glam-more storyline) arrived with the free updates.

A Botanist’s Advice

  1. Say yes to everything. Side quests are never wasted; even humble fetch-quests water a friendship.
  2. Read your To-Do list daily. Requests can arrive quietly, and some are seasonal — a winter favour won’t wait through three summers gracefully.
  3. Court the coven especially. Their tasks are the only path to new spells.
  4. Romancing someone? Their personal quests are the trellis the whole romance climbs.
